Silicon Alley Entrepreneurs' Club Now at More than 4,500 Members; Leading Member-Driven Networking Group Announces Details of April "CEO-Meet"
Business Editors
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 26, 2002--The Silicon
Alley Entrepreneur's Club (SAEC) has attracted more than 4,500
members, making it one of the largest member-driven business
communities in the New York metropolitan area for entrepreneurs.
SAEC meets on a monthly basis for its "CEO-Meet"
event that is driven by its growing membership, sponsors and
founder, Dr. Gyan Parida.
Committed to supporting entrepreneurs and connecting local
business executives, SAEC helps members network with other
members by publishing a "who's coming and why" listing
before each event to registered attendees. At every event,
one company selected by lottery makes a 5-minute presentation
to the entire group. SAEC CEO-Meets include a prominent speaker
from the venture capital or professional services community
and up to 6 businesses are permitted to individually present
their business plans to the speaker.
The April 9, 2002 CEO-Meet featured speaker is Steve Ciesinski,
managing partner of Earlybird (www.earlybird-vc.com).
Ciesinski heads Earlybird's Palo Alto, Calif. office and will
present a Silicon Valley perspective on "5 Things Entrepreneurs
Should Expect from Their Venture Capital Firm Besides Money."
Prior to joining Earlybird, Ciesinski was the president and
CEO of Resumix, Inc., a leading e-recruiting vendor that merged
with HotJobs.com in May 2000.
The program starts at 6:30 p.m. and takes place at Zanzibar's,
located at 645 Ninth Avenue, New York at the corner of 45th
Street. SAEC membership cards and standard business attire
are required. To register for this event, please visit http://saeclub.com/event_register.htm
"SAEC is dedicated to helping the Silicon Alley entrepreneur
community," said SAEC founder Dr. Gyan Parida. "Unlike
similar events that require substantial fees to attend, SAEC
creates a productive networking environment without hefty
membership fees. Despite a challenging economy, Silicon Alley
entrepreneurs report strong interest and support for their
businesses as a direct result of SAEC."
